A story slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling, allowing folks to share their experiences by crafting stories within a 5-10 minute time limit.  This month’s theme will be “Lost and Found.” Story-tellers will write down their names and a title for their story. The story slam hosts will randomly pull story-tellers out of a hat, and one-by-one, they will take the mic (or the front seat) to tell their tale!
The event is free and open to the public!

Stories from the Rock

Instead of hosting a story-telling event ourselves for October, we’re encouraging all Salt City Story Slammers to check out Greyrock Farm’s event this month! The event will be held on October 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm for an evening of light food, fun and, of course, lots of stories!  Listen to four storytellers share their true, personal stories, and get a chance to tell your own! Doors open at 6:30 pm. Please call Matt at 484-888-6254 if you have questions or would like to tell a story! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Greyrock Farm or the Pewter Spoon in Cazenovia.

A Special Thank You

We wanted to reach out and thank all of you for attending our most recent event “Detours” on September 3rd.  Despite the holiday weekend we had a great group of people that included 12 storytellers (yes! 12!) and some great story titles including, “Hurdles”, “Unexpected Tequila”, and “A Tradition is Born”.  We even had a stand up, all-out-yelling campfire song, which took a wonderful detour from the storytelling action!

Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd from 7-9pm at the 1911 Distillery in Lafayette.  The theme will be announced shortly!
