“A Memorable Meal”
With the holidays around the corner, we wanted to honor our family gatherings by hosting an event where you get to tell us all your favorite stories about meals that you just can’t forget! Did grandma say something embarrassing to your new significant other during a meal? Did the dog eat the entire Thanksgiving dinner? Did Uncle Joe’s unruly children take over a family picnic by throwing all the food into the river? Please, tell us all about it. Because we can’t wait to hear it!
A story slam is a competition based on the art of storytelling, allowing folks to share their experiences by crafting stories within a 5-10 minute time limit. Story-tellers will write down their names and a title for their story. The even hosts will randomly pull story-tellers out of a hat, and one-by-one, they will take the mic to tell their tale!
The event is free and open to the public! Take note that this month’s story slam will be hosted at the Evergreen in Syracuse.
Sunday, November 26 at 7 PM – 9 PM
The Evergreen, 125 E Water St, Syracuse, NY 13202
March 11, 2017 — 7:00-9:00pm
Beak and Skiff Distillery
4472 Cherry Valley Tpke, LaFayette, New York 13084
Bring your stories of luck or misfortune because this month’s theme is “Lucky Charms!”

Instead of hosting a story-telling event ourselves for October, we’re encouraging all Salt City Story Slammers to check out Greyrock Farm’s event this month! The event will be held on October 15th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm for an evening of light food, fun and, of course, lots of stories! Listen to four storytellers share their true, personal stories, and get a chance to tell your own! Doors open at 6:30 pm. Please call Matt at 484-888-6254 if you have questions or would like to tell a story! Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Greyrock Farm or the Pewter Spoon in Cazenovia.
We wanted to reach out and thank all of you for attending our most recent event “Detours” on September 3rd. Despite the holiday weekend we had a great group of people that included 12 storytellers (yes! 12!) and some great story titles including, “Hurdles”, “Unexpected Tequila”, and “A Tradition is Born”. We even had a stand up, all-out-yelling campfire song, which took a wonderful detour from the storytelling action!
Our next event is scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd from 7-9pm at the 1911 Distillery in Lafayette. The theme will be announced shortly!
